Leaf Beetles - Genus Tinosis

Subfamily Chrysomelinae, FAMILY CHRYSOMELIDAE

This genus is rare and we found two species.

Small 9-spotted Leaf Beetle

Tinosis decemmaculata, body length 6mm
This small leaf beetle was found on a small plant in Yugarapul Park on Oct 2007.  On a small plant there were a few of them there feeding freely. They were "surface-mining" on the leaves. We went to the Yugarapul Park many times through out the year but only saw them once.

Small 4-spotted Leaf Beetle

Tinosis bicolor, body length 6mm
This leaf beetle was found once on Sept 2005.
Thank to Chris Reid for the identification of this leaf beetle.
