FAMILY CHRYSOMELIDAE
- This page contains pictures and information about
Leaf beetles in subfamily Cryptocephalinae that we found in the Brisbane area,
Queensland, Australia.
-
- Adult females in this subfamily coat their eggs individually in faecal
material and the larvae are obligate case-bearers. When the larvae hatch
from the eggs, they open the roof of the egg case. then extend their head
and legs from the opening, flip the case over their back and crawl away.
