Gum Nut Leaf Beetle - Trachymela sp.

FAMILY CHRYSOMELIDAE

This page contains pictures and information about Gum Nut Leaf beetles that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Body length 8mm
 
This beetle resemble a gum nut. Its body is dull brown in colour with dusty surface texture.

They are sometimes found in Karawatha Park during early summer. The beetles were wandering on young gum trees alone. When we came close, they quickly ran away.
