Leaf Beetles - Genus Lamprolina   

This page contains pictures and information about Leaf beetles of Genus Lamprolina that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.
 
The Genus Lamprolina is endemic to Australia. Their host plants mainly are in Pittosporaceae. Individual species favoring either Pittosporum or Bursaria.

Lamprolina perplexa, male 10mm, female 15mm
We found quite a number of them on one small plants in early summer in Macgregor bush. Their wing-covers are shiny dark blue in colour. The thorax and head are dark yellow with yellow legs. Their antennae and feet are dark blue. Check this page for more information.

Lamprolina aeneipennis, body length 12mm
We found this leaf beetle on plant Bursaria sp. once in Sunnybank near Bulimba Creek during late summer. Please click on here for more information.
