This page contains pictures and information about Green and Black
Planthoppers that we found in the Brisbane area,
Queensland, Australia.

- Body length 20mm
-
- This hopper has the black head and black wings cover. Its abdomen is
bright green in colour. When its wings are opened, there was the bright red
spot on the base of each hind wing.
-

-
- We found this insect on a Citrus tree in early summer.
When disturbed, it hides to the other side of the tree trunk. On a hot mid-summer afternoon, we found about ten of them resting
vertically on a gum tree trunk.
-

-
- We also found many of them on tree trunk in Sinnamon Park during late
summer.
-
-
- Here we would like to thank Melinda
Moir and Dr.
Murray Fletcher for sending us email advised the ID of this planthopper.
