Cixiid Planthopper - Cajeta singularis 

Family Cixiidae, tribe Cajetini

This page contains pictures and information about Cixiid Planthoppers that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia. 

Body length 10mm 
 
This Cixiid  Planthopper is brown in colour. Its wings are transparent with veins in dark brown. Its pronotum expanded laterally, with circular area on each side inflated.

Pictures were taken in Karawatha Forest on Sep 2007.  The Planthopper was struggling on a spider web on gum tree trunk. A Diamond Comb-Footed Spider was coming towards it.
