This page contains pictures and information about Banded Pupa parasite Wasps that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Body length  20mm, female                                                   
 
This wasp look almost the same as the Banded Pupa parasite Wasp 1 but with longer legs and ovipositor.

Male does not have the long ovipositor.

We took those picture in Yugarapul Park and Karawatha Forest in early summer. Female wasps were searching for mature caterpillars and pupae in plants, litter or soil.

Found the above wasps when they were hunting in pair in Ford Road Research Area on Apr 2008. Photos were taken when they were inspecting the rails of a wooden bridge.
