This page contains pictures and information about Sugarcane Armyworm moths and caterpillars that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Body length 30mm
 
The moth was found on Oct 2007, Karawatha Forest, Dentata Trail. It was resting on a plastic bag when we saw it. It flies away after we took the above photo. The moth was silvery brown in colour with dark line and broken lines across on each forewing.

The caterpillars feed on various grasses (Poaceae) and Sugar Cane. They are considered as pest in Sugar Cane farming.
