Unknown Sphecid Wasps 

This page contains pictures and information about Wasps in family Sphecidae that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

We believed the wasps listed in this page are in the family Sphecidae. However, we cannot further identify them. Please advise if you know what wasps they are.

? sp. ,body length 15mm
Pictures taken in Daisy Hill near Buhot Creek on Dec 2008. The wasp was examining the mud wall, could be trying to collect some mud.

Also found this wasp on Dec 2009 in Anstead Forest. 
This look like a Vespid wasp but its eyes is not emarginated and its fore wings not folded longitudinally. From its wing veins we believed it is a Sphecid Wasp.
